Everything is getting an avocado on it. Toast? Put an avocado on it! Burrito bowl? Avocado! Rice and beans? Breakfast tacos? You've got it, it's avocado time! Today's recipe adds avocado to your smoothie for healthy fats and a creamy texture. So let's go!!

  • 1 cup unsweetened soy milk or whichever milk you prefer

  • ½ cup fresh spinach

  • 1 medium size ripe banana, cut into pieces and frozen (frozen fruit makes your smoothie cool without diluting the flavor with ice cubes)

  • 1/2 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted

  • 1 cup blackberries, frozen

  • ¼ cup blueberries, frozen (optional - for more antioxidants and to hide the green coloring from picky kids)

  • 2 Tablespoons almonds

  • Sweeten with agave or maple syrup (optional)

  1. Place all the ingredients in your blender, putting the soy milk and almonds first followed by spinach, avocado, and berries

  2. Blend until smooth, pour, and enjoy!
